The partnership brings heavy-duty commercial vehicles into Webfleet's OEM.connect program. So far the service has been primarily available for passenger cars and vans. Now freight forwarding companies and bus operators can also use the data of their vehicles without additional hardware or workshop stays.

"This is an important milestone for Webfleet's OEM.connect strategy," says Jan-Maarten de Vries, President of Fleet Management Solutions at Bridgestone.

By integrating RIO, the platform can be seamlessly deployed for heavy-duty vehicles as well. This accelerates the digital transformation in commercial transport.

Through the connection, operators access information in real time. This includes mileage, ignition status, speed, as well as fuel level and consumption. These data flow directly into the Webfleet interface and enable route optimization, driver training, or reducing fuel consumption. According to

the company, the OEM.connect program now counts more than 20 vehicle brands. The aim is to create uniform data interfaces and to make it easier for fleet operators to access reliable information.

"The collaboration between Webfleet and RIO reflects our forward-looking commitment to connected mobility," says de Vries.

OEMs will play an important role in telematics going forward, and there is a sense of

responsibility to provide practical solutions. Webfleet is also a partner of the European Mobility Data Space. It concerns a secure exchange of data between manufacturers and operators. Uniform standards should help reduce costs and create a common data basis for logistics. As of September 2025, European fleets can activate their MAN vehicles online for Webfleet.
