Kögel has reorganized the management of its sales activities in Scandinavia as of September 17, 2025. Kim Aaskov assumes the position of Country Manager and will henceforth be responsible for the markets of Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. With this personnel decision, the trailer manufacturer aims to further expand its market presence in Northern Europe and strengthen the local sales structure.
“We are pleased that Kim Aaskov is back on board with us. He is excellent in networking in the region and knows the market and customers just as well. Together we will implement our sales strategy in Scandinavia and continue to expand our presence there,” says Kögel CSO Thore Bakker.
25 years of experience in the transport and
logistics industry and knowledge of the Nordic market
Aaskov is regarded as an industry expert. He has more than 25 years of experience in the transport and logistics sector and has previously worked for Kögel. In his new role, he will be responsible for the operational sales business from the Danish site Padborg. The returnee brings not only extensive knowledge of internal processes but also a deep understanding of the particular requirements and framework conditions of the Nordic market.
According to Kögel, a key focus of Aaskov's activities lies in the strategic further development of the regional business. In addition to the traditional vehicle sales, his responsibilities include customer consultation, after-sales support, and the expansion of digital offerings. The
aim is to provide Scandinavian customers with an integrated portfolio of services that goes beyond mere vehicle delivery.
Establishment of a locally anchored Kögel organization
A central element of the new market strategy is the establishment of a locally anchored organization that can respond flexibly and promptly to customer needs. Kögel thus aims to be closer to its customers in order to serve the region's specific requirements in a targeted manner. This also includes expanding the service infrastructure and providing sustainable, innovative solutions for transport and logistics applications.
Kögel, headquartered in Burtenbach, Bavaria, has been producing trailers and transport solutions for the freight forwarding and construction industries for over 90 years. In addition to the headquarters, Kögel operates further
locations including Ulm, Duingen, Choceň (Czech Republic), Verona, Gallur, Kampen, Schärding, Padborg, as well as a currently idle plant in Moscow.
The Kögel Trailer GmbH is currently restructuring its leadership. After four years at the helm of the company, CEO Christian Renners will leave on September 30, 2025. Until a successor is appointed, CSO Thore Bakker and CFO Christian Spengler will take on additional leadership responsibilities.
