The Berlin-based e-mobility consulting company M3E has introduced a new digital and free analysis tool. The application is intended to significantly simplify the planning of charging infrastructure in companies and municipalities. For example, it allows multiple locations to be captured, their individual needs to be queried in a structured way, or their eligibility for subsidies checked.
"Lengthy information-gathering processes are still standing in the way of a fast and smooth rollout of charging infrastructure (LIS) in commercial areas as well as at corporate sites and in districts. For municipalities as well as for commercial, real estate and logistics companies with several locations, it means a lot of work to communicate with all relevant stakeholders in order to collect and prepare the necessary information. Typically this is still done laboriously via individual e-mail communications and Excel spreadsheets," the provider outlines
the starting point.
The new tool automatically sends emails with questionnaires, in which relevant inquiries are made. Questionnaires, responses and site data are centrally consolidated and can be analyzed systematically. For that and for further applications, a clear dashboard is available. Through efficient communication and data capture as well as a live evaluation and reminder function, a reliable basis for planning future charging needs and area-specific charging strategies and investment decisions should emerge. In addition, the tool is also intended to help ensure compliance with legal requirements and regulations, such as GEIG. The next generation of the analysis tool will include an integrated, automated conformity assessment, the provider announced.
Major challenge in assessing needs
For municipalities and municipal utilities, it is one of the biggest challenges to know the actual charging needs in commercial areas and to derive concrete
courses of action from them. Correct information and a central data basis form the foundation so that municipalities and electricity suppliers can ensure the stability of the energy networks.
Compatibility with the National LIS Control Center targeted
Currently, work is also being done on compatibility with the FlächenTOOL of the National LIS Control Center, so that the next generation of the "Bedarfscheck Ladeinfrastruktur" enables direct export or reporting. For commercial enterprises, real estate companies, logisticians and depot operators, there are also pre-made, customizable questionnaires available for easy use that enable systematic planning and preparation of LIS projects. The new solution is suitable as an information and analysis tool for fleet managers and site managers at logistics companies and fleet operators as well as for energy consultants, project developers, real estate owners and facility managers who want to assess the
charging needs of their properties and prepare investment decisions, the Berliners advertise.

The needs assessment and analysis tool helps to identify charging needs and potentials with a central digital process and advance projects with a clear data basis, without Excel chaos and time-consuming e-mail communications,“ explains Christian Milan, founder and managing director of M3E GmbH.
In addition to a clear ease of work, this also creates transparency for municipalities, companies and investors, so that economically and ecologically meaningful synergy potentials can be released early, which will put an end to uncoordinated, grid-endangering standalone measures, says Milan further.
