Panattoni is developing a sustainable property on an approximately 20,200 square meter site in the local community of Erbes-Büdesheim near Alzey without prior leasing. The “Panattoni Park Mainz Süd” comprises around 8,200 square meters of hall space, 500 square meters of office and social space, as well as 700 square meters of mezzanine space, according to a press release from the developer of industrial, commercial, and logistics properties dated April 28.

At least a certification according to the

gold standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) is being pursued. The photovoltaic system on approximately 8,220 square meters of roof area is expected to generate about 0.9 megawatt-peak of electricity annually. This could – in addition to self-use by future tenants – theoretically cover the energy needs of up to 180 households. Added to this are fossil-free heating via a heat pump, smart metering, and rainwater usage for irrigation of outdoor facilities and toilet flushing. Wildflower

meadows, beehives, and a wellbeing area for employees are intended to contribute to a pleasant working atmosphere and to the preservation of regional biodiversity.

An archaeological find in the southern part of the site also gives the project historical significance: Wall remains of a church that was built well over a thousand years ago and extended into the late Middle Ages were discovered and recorded there in 2020. In coordination with the relevant authorities and the State Archaeology

Mainz, the layout of the park was accordingly adjusted – the find area remains undeveloped and preserved.

Only a few kilometers from the A63 and A61 highways, the location offers connections in all directions. The proximity to metropolitan areas and their multimodal transshipment possibilities enable, according to Panattoni, good access to national and international logistics networks – particularly attractive for companies from sectors such as light industrial, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and automotive. These benefit from the multifunctional and sustainable
