The French cargo bike manufacturer Kleuster and the French commercial vehicle manufacturer Renault Trucks have announced the new generation of their e-cargo bike for Eurobike 2025 in Frankfurt. The partnership, which began in 2022, is thus being continued. The new Kleuster 350 is designed for intensive use in urban environments and was jointly developed by Renault Trucks and Kleuster. Renault Trucks has been manufacturing Kleuster's e-cargo bikes at its headquarters near Lyon for several years.
The manufacturer states that the new generation of electrified cargo bikes is intended to meet the rapidly growing e-commerce, the demand for shorter delivery times, the increasing demand for flexibility, and stricter environmental regulations.
The new, robust, and technically optimized model was designed according to the requirements
for heavy-duty vehicles. Accordingly, a chainless drive is said to reduce maintenance effort and improve vehicle availability. Moreover, a replaceable battery with a range of up to 35 kilometers each is particularly practical. The front and rear wheel suspensions are designed to provide better comfort and stability on any terrain. As a classic trike, the model has a very small turning circle of 2.4 meters.
Furthermore, they intend to keep the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) lower with these technical innovations. According to the manufacturer, this is a crucial purchasing criterion for businesses that rely on sustainable, profitable solutions suitable for the last mile. Practical tests are soon to start in Austria. They are also already in talks with well-known retail players
who have shown interest.
The Kleuster 350 complies with standards (Standard EN 17860) and is equipped with additional safety features developed jointly with UTAC, an independent, technically specialized testing center in France for the certification and approval of automotive products. The vehicle has been subjected to rigorous endurance tests, with over 30,000 kilometers and 1,440 operating hours at the independent testing center Transpolis.
Two Models for Various Applications
The Kleuster 350 is available in two models with a payload capacity ranging from 150 to 300 kg. The Box 350 is an ultra-compact model with high maneuverability and a closed body with large capacity, targeting last-mile deliveries, courier services, food deliveries, craftsmen, or internal and interfacility transport. The Pick-up 350 features an open
loading area, a system of sideboards, and tool-free removable side walls, addressing material transport, technical interventions, green space maintenance, city cleaning, or internal and cross-facility logistics services. With the new models, Kleuster extends its portfolio to offer seven configurations for various industries: Box Freegônes, Fridge Freegônes, Collecte Freegônes, Cleaner Freegônes, Pick-up Freegônes.
According to the information, the development of the cargo bikes takes place in France, the assembly in the Renault Trucks plant in Vénissieux, and the distribution through the manufacturer's sales network. With the market launch, the commercial vehicle manufacturer aims to round off its offering of CO2-neutral transport solutions. The range extends from cargo bikes to electric transporters and trucks, aiming to cover logistics needs from the last mile to
